So basically as my topic states, Flash Player started flickering on me in Internet Explorer 8, 32 bit.  then after a while crashed on me giving me the ! mark while I was in the middle of a FaceBook game, so it really doesn't require much (a puzzle genre
game, really), and had to refresh.  I tried reinstalling, without uninstall, which didn't seem to resolve anything (PC might've already come with Flash installed, I'm not sure, really).  However I'm on Windows 7 Ultimate, 64 bit, but running 32-bit versions
of both Internet Explorer 8 and Flash player, only because I'm not sure I wanna upgrade to Internet Explorer 9 with the tabs and menue items changed and rearranged.  Any ideas how exactly (steps included) to go about fixing this problem?  I've had this happen
before on an older PC as well, which no longer works, but had Windows XP, same version of Internet Explorer, or 7, 1 of the 2.  If anyone has any possible info, leave  reply back as soon as possible.  Thanks!

The point is your problem may be with Adobe Flash Player, not Internet Explorer.  This is a Microsoft Windows 7 Programs forum.  Adobe Flash Player is not a Microsoft Windows 7 Program - it is merely a third party application some people choose to install
and run on top of the Operating System and within certain Internet Browsers.
This is a peer-to-peer forum.  This is not Microsoft direct support in any fashion.  People may volunteer their time and expertise on Microsoft products here as they may be users of the same products as you.
If I was personally in your situation, I probably would start by searching the
Adobe forums as well as the

Microsoft forums *and* just
general overall Internet searches.  I would (after testing with multiple browsers to verify it either worked or failed in the same manner) probably then do something along the lines of:
1) Update my video device drivers from the video hardware manufacturer's web page/drivers and support web page of the computer manufacturer for my computer model.
2) Update my audio device drivers from the audio hardware manufacturer's web page/drivers and support web page of the computer manufacturer for my computer model.
3) Uninstall anything and everything related to Adobe.  Everything.  Using the built-in uninstallers (through Programs and Features.)
Then I would likely go into the system registry and delete the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe key and all sub-keys.  If the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Adobe key existed, I would do the same thing.  I would also make sure that no Adobe file-system folders
existed in the following locations:
C:\Program Files C:\Program Files\Common Files C:\Program Files (x86) C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files C:\Users\Shenan\AppData\LocalLow C:\Users\Shenan\AppData\Roaming

Removing the directory from each of those locations that had the "Adobe" name in it (and all sub-folders of course.)
4) I would uninstall every version of Java (Java Runtime Environment / JRE) I found in Programs & Features.
5) I would download, install, update and perform a full system scan with each of the following two Malware scanners:
MalwareBytes (FREE) [Yes, it is FREE]
SuperAntiSpyware (FREE) [Yes, it is FREE]

And remove anything and everything they find, you may uninstall afterwards (both.)
6) I would perform a full scan with the
eSet Online Scanner.  Remove anything it finds.
7) I would then download and install latest version of
Adobe Flash Player (no betas, 32-bit.)  I would immediately reboot after the successful installation.
8) I would then download and install the latest version of the
Java Runtime Environment (JRE, 32-bit.)  I would immediately reboot after the successful installation.
9) The first and only thing I would do after logging in would be to try what I was having trouble with before.
 
If all that failed and I had gleamed nothing further from my research, I would restore my computer back to a image where I know everything was working and slowly upgrade the necessary compnents one at a time, rebooting and testing where I had the problem
prior to the restore until I was either completely up to date or I ran into the problem again and could pinpoint exactly what caused it (seeing as I did one change at a time, rebooting and testing between each change.)
But that is just me.
