8.1 won't run on desktop without causing BSOD
Pre-installed Window 8 computer updated to 8.1- above is second BSOD after (second try at) updating - first BSOD resulted in a complete restoring of windows 8 - loss of all
both BSOD happened during normal use of computer (In internet or other usual computer tasks)
One very marked difference between 8 and 8.1 is the USB disconnect icon.
In 8 when clicking on this you get immediate reaction (USB window opening).
In 8.1 the reaction is very sluggish - you hear computer working (kind of whirring sound) before
USB window finally opens - sometimes you need to click icon twice or more.
I usually charge a small MP3 player each morning on computer.
In 8 this is not a problem at all and player is listed in USB list.
In 8.1 the player does not get listed, and charging is sporadic. Even when the MP3 is not connected the USB icon does not respond
like it does in W8.
I am hoping someone knows the problem/solution - otherwise I will have to once again revert to W8
