Backup 'To a Network' greyed out for Windows Vista Home Basic
Vista Home Basic SP-2, Win XP Pro SP-3 (Logged on as 'Admistrator' on both machines)
I'm attempting to back up data residing on the Vista Home Basic machine to a shared drive on the Win XP Pro machine over an ethernet network. When I run Backup and Restore from the Vista HB machine, the Backup 'To a Network' option remains greyed out.
As of now, I can Read and Write to the Vista machine's Public folder from the Win XP Pro machine and I can Read and Write to the Win XP Pro machine's Shared drive from the Vista HB machine.
I appologize if the issue has been pre-discussed. I appreciate any assistance in remedying this matter.
Solutions to the Problem Backup 'To a Network' greyed out for Windows Vista Home Basic
I'm sorry, but Windows Vista Home Basic can't back up to a network location. It can only back up to a local disk.
Backup to a network location requires a more advanced version of Windows Vista.
