Automatic dates in template documents
I have created a Word Document template for an attendance note.
The template includes the date, autmatically updated.
The problem is that when I save a new attendance note from this template, it keeps updating the date every time I open it.
Is there a way of doing this so that the date in the template is automatically updated but that when I save a new document from the template it will always retain the date on which it was first saved?
I use Microsoft Office 2007 on Windows XP.
Solutions to the Problem Automatic dates in template documents
Insert a CREATEDATE field in the template. When you then create a document from the template, that field will display the date on which that document is created.
